HOL Guard is local-first runtime control for AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. Before a risky shell command, secret access (like a .env file), an MCP call or a package install runs, Guard asks you to approve or deny it. Get started with: pipx install hol-guard && hol-guard init. The local tool is free and open source under Apache-2.0; Guard Cloud is an optional paid add-on.
