Product Hunt alternatives: our experience with 19 sites
In October 2026 we tried free submission options on launch sites and directories for makers. The table records our public listings, scheduled launches and pending submissions, plus an Uneed draft we could not schedule. These are our observations from October 20 to 27, 2026. Queue estimates and rules may change.
10 of the 19 sites gave us a followed link. RadarMakers is a launch site too, so it is not in the table: we cannot judge ourselves fairly. Our first few days of referral traffic
From October 21 to 27, 2026, our analytics recorded 2 visits from hereismysaas.com, 3 from alohafind.com, 2 from admin.webcatalog.io, 1 from thelaunchdirectory.com and 1 from github.com, for 9 visits in total. Most submissions were made on October 20 to 22, and several launches were still scheduled for later. This short window does not establish how much traffic these sites can bring.
What to prepare before you submit
- A description of at least 150 words for DirArc. Our first attempt was blocked by its length requirement; we submitted again with 168 words.
- Screenshots that show the product in use. On one site our first try was rejected because the images did not show the product in use.
- A square logo, a one line tagline and the address of a page that loads fast without signing in.
- Read the rules on badges first. Some sites only give a followed link if you show their badge on your site.
