A creator network reports $10 million in monthly sales as it raises
MediaLabs announced a Series A at an eight-figure valuation and says 700 connected creators generate about $10 million in monthly GMV. GMV is sales volume, not company revenue.
MediaLabs says a group of about 700 connected creators generated roughly $10 million in monthly gross merchandise value. The TikTok Shop agency also announced a Series A investment at an eight-figure valuation, but did not disclose the investment amount or name the international marketplace investor. Those details come from the company announcement carried by EIN Presswire.
The interesting number is easy to misread. Gross merchandise value is the value of sales moving through commerce activity. It is not MediaLabs revenue, profit, or the income earned by each creator. The company says it manages a community of more than 3,000 creators, while the smaller connected group produced the reported monthly GMV figure.
This is a distinctive business model because the agency builds and manages a creator network, then works with brands selling through TikTok Shop. MediaLabs says the new investment will expand its creator-commerce infrastructure and services. It also says the founding team first tested the model through its own eyewear brand.
The announcement gives a large scale signal but leaves useful questions open. There is no public breakdown of margins, creator payouts, or how GMV is attributed to the 700 connected creators. For makers, the lesson is to separate marketplace volume from the business's own revenue before treating a headline sales figure as proof of durable economics.
